The Optomed Eye Care Center has been continuously growing and evolving since 1997, when its founder, Marija Ana Oman, MD, Specialist in Ophthalmology, opened an independent eye clinic in Škofja Loka. Driven by the desire to provide an optimal patient experience and meet the highest standards, optical services were soon added, although initially at a separate location. The foundation for comprehensive, top-quality care was fully realized in 2019, when both services came together under one roof at the Škofja Loka Health Center.
Due to continuous growth and our drive for excellence, we eventually outgrew that location and began renovating the nearby Bračko Villa. The move to the new premises was completed in 2023, allowing us to expand our range of services and introduce the latest technologies in eye diagnostics, treatment, and optics.
Healthcare holds a very special place and historical legacy in this building. After World War II, Dr. Marija Bračko lived and worked in the villa, dedicating her life to medical care and helping others. Her work made a profound contribution to the development of public healthcare in Škofja Loka and encouraged the construction of the nearby Health Center.
